Terms of use

These terms apply when you use Vemlaut. They are deliberately short: the service is free, handles no money, and promises nothing it cannot keep.

What the service is

Vemlaut helps a group log expenses, split them, and see a proposal for how everyone becomes even. It is an arithmetic tool and a basis for your own settlement.

Vemlaut moves no payments, holds no money and is not a payment service. The transfers it proposes you make yourselves, by whatever method you like.

Your account

You are responsible for the details you enter being correct, and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself. If you suspect somebody else has reached your account, change the password and get in touch.

You must be of age, or have a guardian’s permission, to create an account.

What you put in

The content you enter is yours. You give us the right to store and process it to the extent needed to deliver the service to you and to the people you share a trip with.

Do not enter data you have no right to share, and do not enter more about other people than is needed.

The calculations

We take care that every share, rounding and conversion is correct and traceable. We still give no guarantee that a calculation is right in your case, and it is not financial advice.

Check the figures before you settle. What you finally agree between you is your business.

Availability

The service is under development and is provided as it is. Parts may change, be removed, or be unavailable.

The app is built to work without a connection, but we cannot guarantee that data can always be recovered. If you have something you cannot afford to lose, do not rely on us alone.

Prohibited use

Do not use the service to break the law, to infringe anyone’s rights, or to overload or circumvent technical protections. We may suspend an account that does.

Liability

Our liability is limited to what follows from mandatory law. We are not liable for indirect damage, lost profit or lost data.

Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory Swedish law.

Ending it

You can stop using the service and delete your account whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why where we can.

Governing law

Swedish law applies. Disputes are heard by a Swedish court, unless mandatory consumer rules say otherwise.
